It’s been almost 4 years since I started traversing the open road in a tiny airstream. Who knew I’d love it so much. Here’s some of my TOP reasons I enjoy this uniquely & intriguing lifestyle of a nomad.
5 - Immersing myself in new cultures and towns doesn’t have to be done in just a few days. I never feel like I have to cram 3 weeks worth of destinations in just a few days. I’m fortunate to explore at my own pace and take my time acquainting with the locals while making new friends along the way.
4 - Constantly traveling to vacation like destinations and never having to travel all that distance back home. In turn, I save a ton of gas, time and money!
3 - I practice living a minimal lifestyle which keeps me grounded. I’ve learned that possessions have no impact to my happiness. Experiences and interactions are the lifeline to my well being.
2 - I don’t ever know where I’ll be living next. Most of the time I haven’t got a clue when I will arrive and when I will leave places. I’ve always been a calculated non calculator.
1 - Meeting so many others who share this mentality makes me feel less of an outcast. Socializing with other nomads (even the weekend warrior nomads) inspire me. I’ve learned so much about myself on this journey. Hearing other people’s stories and relating to them invigorates this Gypsy soul of mine.
In conclusion - there are way more than 5 reasons but these were some of the top that came to mind. I’d love to hear your reasons on why being a gypsy appeals to YOU (if it does of course ).
